DESIGN INFRINGEMENT
MSA have been made aware of a COPY softness gauge being manufactured by a company in China called GOTECH (GT-303 Leather Softness Tester).
This inferior equipment has been evaluated by ourselves and has highlighted several issues that will affect performance and accuracy/repeatability of readings taken with the Gotech unit. Companies relying on the MSA ST300 Softness Tester as part of their quality control systems will experience variations in results from suppliers, or other departments, if they are using the Gotech unit. This will ultimately cause many problems for end manufacturers of leather products.
